Me, Myself, and My Car

Even before I learned to drive I wanted to go on a road trip. My first road trip idea was me and a friend takes two weeks to explore the coast of California. This trip, along with many others never happened. It seemed I was always waiting for someone to go with. Then one day in April 07 it occurred to me “I’m waiting for someone to go with?” that is the lamest excuse ever.

So I started planning my adventure.

The first thing people would ask me is “Who are you going with?” and my reply was “Me, Myself, and my Car”

My cars name is Little Thunder. (She) is a 1991 Toyota Corolla with a tape deck and limited A/C usage. For 22 days and 9,000 miles Little Thunder would become my transportation, shelter and let it be said, friend.

When my tent almost flew away in Montana, who did I tie my tent to?
When I was stuck in traffic for 6 hours in Chicago, who did I talk to?
When I got stuck on the turn pike in New Jersey, who made me feel safe?

The answer is, Little Thunder.

But I really didn’t take my road trip alone. Because every where I went I met amazing people. I got to meet my family and make new friends. Random people would invite me for lunch and it was just so awesome to hear all these great stories from everyone. And the fact that you all where praying for me to have a safe trip really meant a lot to me and I could have not been able to do it with out you.

So when people ask me “Who did I go on my road trip with?” I will tell them –

Me, my car, and all my friends and family.
